    @nik: Since I don't use Vista, I can't answer your question. However, friends of mine who use Vista says that VID and PID are not the same.

    A workaround is probably to find a CD-bootable XP system (e.g., BartPE), which will have the XP-style Device Manager and XP-style information.

    Thanks for the quick response pepoluan, as a matter of fact VID means Vendor ID, as I used the same method u described in this article, however PID is what is I'm not sure about. Still researching on that. I've a webcam without any drivers or branding and will let you know the result.
